Custom MagnaTrack™ Retractable Screens with clear vinyl transformed this mountain-view cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia, into a more protected and flexible outdoor space while preserving the expansive views and open-air feel.
Our clients wanted to protect their mountain-view outdoor living space from the strong wind conditions common in Blue Ridge without enclosing the area with glass.
Preserving the view was a top priority. They wanted the space to remain as visually open as possible while gaining the flexibility to enclose it when needed and open it completely during warmer seasons.
The project also included a double-height opening facing the mountain view, which required the proper equipment and installation planning to complete the job safely and correctly.
Because of the stronger wind exposure in this mountain setting, we recommended MagnaTrack™ Retractable Screens with clear vinyl.
The MagnaTrack™ magnetic retention system made it the right fit for this type of exposed outdoor space, while the clear vinyl allowed the clients to preserve as much of the mountain view as possible.
To support the design of the home, the clear vinyl area was maximized and the darker border was selected to coordinate with the structure and architecture of the space.
Our clients now have a more comfortable and protected outdoor living space that can be enclosed when needed without sacrificing the mountain scenery that makes the property so special.
When they want protection from wind and cooler conditions, the MagnaTrack™ Retractable Screens create a clear enclosure. When they want the space completely open in spring and summer, the screens retract out of the way at the touch of a button.
The result is a premium mountain-view space that can be enjoyed with greater comfort, flexibility, and year-round usability.
Learn why MagnaTrack™ Retractable Screens are a strong choice for mountain properties, exposed openings, and custom outdoor enclosures in Blue Ridge, Georgia.
MagnaTrack™ Retractable Screens use a patented dual-magnetic retention system with a self-tensioning, self-adjusting track designed to respond to wind pressure while keeping the screen securely engaged. This makes the system particularly well suited for exposed outdoor spaces such as mountain cabins and homes with large openings.
MagnaTrack™ Retractable Screens were designed to address common problems associated with traditional fixed-track and zipper-style systems. The patented magnetic track can self-adjust under pressure and helps reduce jams, snags, and hang-ups. Progressive Screens states that MagnaTrack™ eliminates approximately 98% of the common service issues associated with traditional track systems.
Progressive Screens currently lists limited lifetime coverage on qualifying aluminum components, 15 years on screen material, 5 years on motors, 2 years on remotes, and 1 year on vinyl. Coverage depends on the product, material, and applicable warranty terms, and Aurora will confirm the coverage for your specific MagnaTrack™ Retractable Screens project.
